2012 – IN PROGRESS
The town of Parma, in the region of Emilia-Romagna, is one of northern Italy’s leading business centers and is well known for its gastronomic tradition. The ‘Atrium’ complex was completed at this central location after 2 years of construction. The new office complex designed by Arch. Federico Pella (J+S), transforms an unused area of 14 thousand square meters into a new green district thanks to the concepts of energy efficiency and environmental sustainability.
The new office building complex in Parma has a rear-ventilated building envelope made using fiber cement panels and the bearing structure of the buildings is made entirely withy lamellar wood, X-lam type.
The façades with room-high glass surfaces and white panels emphasize the sharp-edged geometry of the six-building units and accentuate the clear, modern look. The building façades have a total area of 4,000 m2 and are clad with Swisspearl panels. The large-format panels give the façades their individual, characteristic appearance as well as providing highly effective protection.
